“No”, my dad said in a sure voice. “But Dad I want this one”. “I’m not going to have a dog in my house who pees and bites in my when new people come over”, my dad said.
We were at Petco in Longview Tx. looking for a new dog because, my previous dog had died,’ but my dad wouldn’t let me get a dog named a chihuahua.” So we went around the corner to a place called Petsmart and looked there, and all they had there were some wiener dogs and some other old and crusty dogs. I was really disappointed. The only other option was to go to Tyler Tx. that was about 45 minutes away. I really didn’t feel like going, but my parents talked me into it.
We were just pulling up when we heard barks. The barks sounded like, a train was driving right by my face. We asked the guy where the puppy section was. He led us to it and he showed them to us. I couldn’t decide which one to take so he said he would let me pet all of them in a enclosed area reserved just for that. I got the first one, I liked him because, he’s shy and very mellow. I get the second one and he’s very fat and pushy. I get the 3rd one and every time i try to pet him he runs away. I get the 4th one and he doesn’t even realize I’m there. I get the 5th one and he’s the perfect mans best friend. I wanted all of them but my parents wouldn’t let. My dad said he was okay with 2. But immediately my mom refused. It came to decision time and I chose the 3rd one. His original name was Goldie, but I named him Skipper after my grandma’s brother.
We went to my grandma’s house and pulled into the driveway to let him use the restroom. When they saw him they said, “ Go get me his brother.” So my dad and my grandma go get his brother.
We went home and put him in the backyard to use the restroom again. we found out very quickly that he only liked chew toys. When we came inside we passed out on the couch.
When we woke up I felt that protected feeling again I hadn’t had since my previous dog I can’t wait to see what happens in the future. I learned that sometimes somethings where just ment to happen.
